Himachal govt to issue White Paper on fiscal health of the state: CM
Regular monthly interaction between the Ministers and workers of Congress party would be held at Congress party office, Rajiv Bhawan, Shimla to ensure speedy redressal of the grievances of the Congress party workers, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Thursday.
This move has been initiated in consultation with State congress President Pratibha Singh, he said adding that this would improve better coordination between and workers of the Congress Party including general public.
The Chief Minister himself initiated this move by visiting Rajiv Bhawan today and met various delegations, party workers and common people who came from different parts of the State and listened to their grievances for about three hours.
Sukhu also highlighted the precarious financial Health of the state and said that a white paper would be brought out on the economic condition of the state in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha session, thereby helping the people of the state to better understand the reality of the unmindful spending done by the previous BJP government. Furthermore, he advised the leader of the opposition to introspect about the last five years of the BJP government regime before casting any allegations.
The present state government has inherited a debt of Rs. 75 thousand crore and the then BJP government failed to release a sum of Rs. 11 thousand crore, due to the government employees as arrears. Additionally, over 900 institutions were opened and upgraded during the last six months of the previous government, which would have resulted in an additional burden of Rs. 5000 crore on the state exchequer, he added.

First nuclear plant of North India to be built in Haryana
The first nuclear power plant in North India would be built in Gorakhpur, Haryana, according to Union Minister Jitendra Singh. He claimed that one of the major accomplishments under Prime Minister Narendra Modis Leadership would be the installation of nuclear and atomic energy Plants across the nation, which had previously been largely restricted to states in the south like Nadu and Andhra Pradesh as well as western Maharashtra.
The Department of Atomic Energy is also allowed to join forces with Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) to get funding for the opening of nuclear power plants.
Haryanas Gorakhpur In the Fatehabad area of Haryana, the Anu Vidyut Pariyojanas (GHAVP) Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) with two units, each with a capacity of 700 MWe, is currently being built.
CJI DY Chandrachud Launched Neutral Citations For All Supreme Courts
The Chief of India DY Chandrachud announced that The Supreme Court has launched neutral citations of judgments to ensure a uniform pattern of citing its decisions. Earlier, the Supreme court informed that steps had been taken for the introduction and implementation of a uniform, reliable and secure methodology for identifying and citing decisions in the apex court, namely the neutral citations system, to ensure a uniform pattern of citing all decisions of the top court.
The Chief Justice of India informed that they have launched neutral citations. All judgments of the court will have neutral citations, adding that around 30,000 verdicts of the apex court would have neutral citations.
PM Modi to disburse 13th instalment of Rs 16,800cr under PM-KISAN
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse the 13th installment of the income support programme PM-Kisan, totaling more than Rs 16,800 crore to more than eight crore beneficiary farmers in Belagavi, Karnataka.
The programme distributes Rs 6,000 annually in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 into each eligible landholder farmers bank account.
When PM-Kisan was introduced in February 2019, more than Rs 2.2 lakh crore had been distributed to over 11 crore landholder farmer families across the nation.
Union Government Approved Renaming of Aurangabad & Osmanabad in Maharashtra
Chief Minister Shinde confirmed that Aurangabad city will be renamed Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Osmanabad city will be called Dharashiv. After a year the proposal to rename Aurangabad and Osmanabad has been approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Ministry stated that it has no objection to renaming cities. The initial proposal was made in a cabinet meeting during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in June 2022 before Uddhav Thackeray resigned as the then-chief minister.
After claiming that the decision by the Uddhav government was illegal, On July 16, 2022, a Government Resolution was passed by the two-member cabinet, comprising Eknath Shinde and his deputy Devendra Fadnavis, for changing the names, and a proposal was then forwarded to the Centre.
The Bombay High Court sought to know from the Maharashtra government if it had called for objections and suggestions before deciding to rename Aurangabad and Osmanabad cities in the state.
US recognized McMahon Line as international border
A bipartisan resolution was passed by the US, formally recognizing the McMahon Line as the international boundary between China and Indias Arunachal Pradesh. The resolution rejected Chinas claim that the state belongs to its territory and instead acknowledged Arunachal Pradesh as an integral part of India. Furthermore, the resolution expressed support for Indias and territorial Integrity.
The resolution, titled Reaffirmation of Arunachal Pradesh as Indian territory and condemnation of Chinas provocative activities in South Asia,came after a major clash between the Indian and Chinese forces inArunachals Tawangin December last year.
