Himachal Pradesh awaits Centre approval for bulk drug park

 

Himachal Pradesh is eagerly waiting for the announcement of a bulk drug park by the Centre. State industries minister Bikram Singh recently called on Union minister of chemicals and fertilizers D V Sadananda Gowda at New Delhi and informed him that Himachal had submitted highly competitive proposals for bulk drug and medical devices parks to the department of pharmaceuticals. He also requested Gowda for early announcement of the results for these parks as it would stabilize the API prices and also result in import substitution.

Bikram Singh has also informed the Union minister that presently the state was home to more than 700 pharma companies and had emerged as the largest pharma formulation hub in the country.

Indian Certification of Medical Devices Plus Scheme

 

The Indian Certification of Medical Devices (ICMED) Plus Scheme was launched by the Quality Council of India (QCI).

About ICMED Plus Scheme:

The QCI and the Association of Indian Manufacturers of Medical Devices (AiMeD) have enhanced the ICMED Scheme, which was launched in 2016.

The new scheme is known as ICMED 13485 PLUS.

The scheme will verify the quality, safety, and efficacy of medical devices.

ICMED 13485 Plus has been designed to integrate the Quality Management System components and product-related quality validation processes via witness testing of products against defined product standards and specifications.

This is the world’s first scheme in which quality management systems and product certification standards are integrated with regulatory requirements.

This scheme will be an end-to-end quality assurance scheme for India’s medical device sector.

 

National Internet Exchange of India – NIXI

 

The 18th anniversary of the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) was celebrated.

NIXI will provide each IN user with a personalized email with 10GB of space.

This email will be provided on demand. Users can visit www.registry.in to get free personalized emails.

The domain, which began with five languages, is now available in all 22 official languages. India is the only country that offers domain names in all 22 official Indian languages.

 

NIXI was founded in 2003 as a non-profit organisation under Section 8 of the Companies Act of 2013.

NIXI was created to allow ISPs (internet service providers) to peer with one another in order to route domestic traffic within the country rather than sending it all the way to the US/abroad.

This results in improved service quality (lower latency) and lower bandwidth charges for ISPs by saving on international bandwidth.

 

Ease of Living Index by CSE

 

Bengaluru has been named as the most liveable metropolitan city of India, in the Ease of Living Index 2020, released by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).

The Ease of Living Index 2020 is a phase of the report titled State of India’s Environment 2021. Bengaluru is followed by means of Chennai, Shimla, Bhubaneshwar, and Mumbai, as the pinnacle five quality cities respectively.

The report targeted four parameters to decide the ease of dwelling index rating of each city, which are: great of life, financial ability, sustainability and citizens’ perceptions.

Each town was once rated out of one hundred in all parameters.

The Ease of Living Index 2020 is the 2nd edition of the index after the first one was once launched in 2018.
