Every house of Himachal Pradesh to get tap water supply: Minister

Every household in the state would get clean tap water under Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal scheme within one-and-a-half year, said Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh. During his visit to lay the foundation stones of various schemes worth Rs 12.28 crore in Nirmand region of the district today, he said the government, under the Leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, would accomplish the goal under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

The minister said Rs 1,000 crore from the Asian and Rs 800 crore from the BRICS Development Bank, had been approved for drinking water and Irrigation schemes. He said there were sufficient funds for providing clean drinking water to the people of the state.

The minister said the state secured the first position under the Jal Jeevan Mission for the second consecutive year. He said Rs 1,405 crore had been sanctioned this year under the scheme. He praised Anni MLA Kishori Lal Sagar and urged him to work on the sewerage system in Brow on priority.

National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of , Shipping, and Waterways to collaborate on the development of a National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) in Lothal, Gujarat.

The NMHC will showcase India’s rich and diverse maritime glory;

It will be a world-class facility near the Archaeological Survey of India’s Lothal site.

The NMHC would be developed as an international tourist destination, showcasing India’s maritime heritage from ancient to modern times, and an edutainment approach utilising the latest technology would be used to raise awareness about India’s maritime heritage.

It would be built over 400 acres and would include various unique structures such as the National Maritime Heritage Museum, Light House Museum, Heritage Theme Park, Museum Themed Hotels & Maritime Themed Eco-Resorts, Maritime Institute, and so on.

The recreation of the ancient Lothal city, one of the prominent cities of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization dating back to 2400 BC, is a unique feature of NMHC.

Implementation of Deep Ocean Mission

The chaired through Prime Minister Narendra Modi has permitted the implementation of Deep Ocean Mission. This mission is proposed with the aid of the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), to explore the deep ocean for sources and enhance deep-sea applied sciences for sustainable use of ocean Resources.

The 5 year Mission will be implemented at an estimated price of Rs. 4077 crore in a phase-wise manner.

The first segment will be carried at some point of 2021-2024, at an estimated cost of Rs. 2823.4 crore.

The essential goal of the Deep Ocean Mission is to support the Blue economy Initiatives of the Government of India.

Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) will be the nodal Ministry for imposing this multi-institutional ambitious mission.

The Deep Ocean Mission consists of the following six essential components:

World Refugee Day is on 20th June

World Refugee Day is found each and every year on 20th June to respect & honour the resilience and courage of refugees across the world. The United Nations (UN) observes this day to honour the refugees who have been forced outside of their homes. The day objectives to construct understanding and Empathy for refugees constructing their lives in countries new to them.

World Refugee Day was celebrated for the 1st time on June 20, 2001, on the fiftieth anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention. The United Nations General Assembly officially particular June 20 as World Refugee Day in December 2000.
